| A license is required in order to operate a General
Mobile Radio Service (GMRS) radio in the United States.
The license is issued by the Federal Communications Commission.

| There are three forms that must be filled out in order to
obtain a GMRS license. |

- Basic form - fairly simple to fill out

- FCC 159 Remittance Advice
- Present fee required for a license is $80 (valid for 5
years)

used to determine fees / codes (see pages 4-5)

- FCC 605 Schedule F
- This schedule is for your records. It establishes
a temporary call sign that you can use as soon as you send in the other
two forms.
- Temporary call sign is WT plus your phone number
